Nissan Develops a LEAF Stetch Limo

If you are an owner of a Nissan LEAF, you are most likely not to keen on the stretch SUV. Well Nissan may just have the right remedy for that gas-guzzling giant. Nissan is working with a custom limo maker in Springfield, Missouri and has plans to redesign the LEAF EV. The goal is to stretch the LEAF EV, and create an eco-conscience, VIP vehicle.
Imperial Coach Builders is the custom limo maker planning to take on the project and is a subsidiary of Electric Car Company, Inc. The company received a project order that requires the Nissan LEAF to be stretched to be almost 225 inches in length.
"This will be the first conversion of this revolutionary vehicle and the first pure electric limousine," 1 says Gary Spaniak, President, Electric Car Company.
The stretch Nissan LEAF will be almost fifty inches longer than that conventional model and will seat twice as many passengers. Imperial coach Builders hasn't disclosed whether they will use the standard limo seating design or a new configuration. The standard limo seating arrangement consists of a side bench with one forward-facing back seat for two. We expect that the company will release details surrounding how the extra length will impact the EV's 100-mile range or electric powertrain soon.
We're not sure about you, but Jenkins Nissan is very excited for the adaptation. Wouldn't it be nice to see Hollywoods' stars and starlets pull up to the red carpet in a green machine? It certainly would make EVs more fashionable.
