Consumers in the UK and Canada can expect the 200 Platinum production models to deliver all the utility they've come to depend on with a bit of added luxury attitude. Upon slipping inside of the X-Trail Platinum, drivers will find their foot resting on chrome side steps while their fingers grip onto chrome door protection moldings. Once inside, leather upholstery, electrically-adjustable heated front seats and a transformed touch-screen communication unit give off an immediate taste of the premium segment.

Pressing down on the gas, special edition X-Trail owners will rev up a Nissan 2.0-liter dCi diesel engine with either automatic or manual transmission. In addition to impressive power, the model gets a fuel-economy rating of 44.1-mpg. Pretty good considering the drivetrain is running a fairly sizable SUV. Moreover, the limited X-Trail Platinum offers all the aforementioned upgrades at an affordable cost. One automotive reviewer points out that it is even less expensive than the model off of which it's based.
