Consider It All When Buying a Car

What do taxes, insurance, gasoline, and maintenance have in common? They all need to be factored into the cost of owning a vehicle. At Jenkins Nissan, we want to ensure that you make the most informed buying decision, so we want to give you a couple of tips for navigating this tricky equation.

Are you considering a newer vehicle? Great! First, though, be reminded that it is likely that insurance and taxes will be higher on a newer vehicle. Not all vehicles are the same, though, so check with your insurance agent to see how much different vehicles you are interested in cost to insure. How about an older vehicle? Perfect! Do consider, however, that maintenance, and, often, gasoline costs will be higher for these vehicles. Do some research on commonly reported problems with vehicles you're interested in, and then get a rough estimate of how much it costs to address those issues.

With this information in hand, you won't be surprised when a car you thought you could afford ends up draining your budget. Stop in and get started with us in Lakeland!
