Nissan brings the gaming system to real life

Gaming systems get more realistic with every new release. One of the top and most realistic racing games is Gran Turismo Sport on the PlayStation 4. You can feel the adrenaline rush of a real race car as you compete on virtual tracks at high speeds. Nissan decided to see what it would be like to take that virtual race experience to a real car on a real track.

To celebrate the release of Gran Turismo Sport and Nissan's 20-year collaboration on the Gran Turismo game series, Nissan created the ultimate remote-control car for gamers. It’s the Nissan GT-R/C and it's a full-size racecar that uses four systems to operate the steering, transmission, brakes and throttle with six computers mounted in the rear of the car, updating the data at over 100 times per second and it's all controlled by the PlayStation 4's "DualShock 4" controller.

The car was recently put through the paces by GT Academy winner Jann Mardenborough on Silverstone's famous National Circuit. To make it even more like a real R/C car experience, he controlled the car with the PS4 gamepad from the cockpit of a helicopter and reached an average speed of 122 mph.

You will probably prefer the traditional method of controlling your vehicle and Jenkins Nissan in Lakeland, FL can help you find the perfect fit for you. Contact us and let our staff arrange a test drive.
